Budget Netbook
My current budget netbook pick is the MSI Wind.  It's price at the time of this posting is $272.99 which includes the shipping (via Buy.com).

Remember that netbooks are meant for portability, not power.  You need to use a netbook with this in mind.

If your primary use for your home computer is using the Internet and Microsoft Office, then this computer will meet your needs.  Running higher end applications is not recommended.

There are less expensive netbooks like the Aspire One, which is a good machine, but I personally prefer the MSI Wind because it has a slightly larger keyboard and screen, which helps with usability.

Basic Specs include:
  • 1.66 GHz Intel Processor
  • 1GB of Memory
  • Windows 7 (starter edition I believe)
  • 160GB hard drive for storage
  • Media Card reader
  • Wired Networking
  • Wireless Networking (wi-fi)
  • Bluetooth
  • Webcam
  • 3 USB ports

Netbooks normally do not come with DVD drives.  I recommend purchasing one, if not at the time of your netbook purchase, then later on.  Click to view an external DVD drive.
